What True Leaders Do To Effortlessly Remove the Fear of Phone Prospecting Their Home Business Leads

mlm phone prospecting, home business prospecting, calling network marketing leadsI must say, one of the biggest fears of those in a home business or those seeking info on joining an opportunity from home is … talking on the phone. Believe it or not! I bet you, at one point or another, dreaded having to get on the phone with someone regarding a conversation you really didn’t feel like engaging in.

We’ve all been there. And yes, it does take some getting used to. But this skill alone in a home business is a major money-maker for you. There’s nothing like actually engaging someone over a phone conversation and letting the other person know that you not just a pretty face on the internet offering a solution to their financial problems, you are REAL!

Now, there are some specific strategies to removing the fear of phone prospecting your MLM/Network Marketing leads. Some specifically those leaders like Mike Dillard, Aaron Rashkin, Gregg Davison, and many others use to have people practically diving at your business opportunity.

How to Stay In Control over the Conversation on Your Next Prospecting Call

Control over a conversation, whether on the phone or in person, is key to determining if that time used to prospect that lead will be a sale or a flop. Here are some tips to help you stay in control the entire time throughout your prospecting effort.

  • Get To Know Your Prospect – Within the first few minutes on the phone, get to know the person you’re talking to. If you’re asking the right questions, you’ll know very quickly if that person actually qualifies for your business, and your time.
  • Maintain Posture – Maintaining posture is VERY important. You want to show the person that you are in control of the conversation and that they are there to answer YOUR questions, not vise-verse. If you’re finding yourself getting prospected instead of you doing the prospecting, you’ve lost that person and you might as well end the call right away. NEVER get into a detailed conversation that will only lead to time wasted and NO MONEY MADE.
  • Know How To Answer The Dumb Questions – Many people you find that actually take the time to speak to you over the phone will ask you many question, including the infamous “How much money are you making?” This question is a very bad question coming from your prospect. You have to be sure to again, maintain you posture and control over the conversation, and inform them that your success has NOTHING to do with the success that person can have in a home business.

These are only three of the many useful tips for prospecting your leads over the phone. Me personally, I used Mike Dillard’s “Black Belt Recruiting” training to develop those phone skills you’ll need to become successful at MLM/Network Marketing.

Awesome article Pablo. You are absolutely right that developing phone skills is essential in this business despite the whole “never have to pick up the phone” spin we often hear. The reward lies in developing this skill to the point where it is the most natural thing in the world – that way our prospect’s trust follows right from the outset which is what counts in our business, right?

  7. Pablo says:

Only if you backlink to my site. I have found, several times now, my content pasted on someone’s site claiming it to be their content. I’ve already cracked down on some and I have a ZERO tolerance for ANYONE stealing my content and claiming it theirs. :-|

  8. Thanks for very useful tip. We have made good progress on Black Belt Recruiting. The key is our improvement in relationship management and prospecting the leads over the phone.
